Situated in the heart of Delaveaga Elementary School, our Delaveaga Site emerges as an educational oasis that beautifully integrates with its surroundings. Comprising three dynamic rooms, each infused with its own vibrant character, the site becomes a hub of exploration and learning. Beyond the confines of the indoor spaces, an extensive outdoor area beckons, offering children a playground of endless possibilities for play and discovery. Surrounded by the natural allure of Delaveaga Elementary School, our site creates a unique and enriching environment where the synergy of indoor vibrancy and expansive outdoor realms ensures a remarkable and personalized educational journey for every child.
Site Director - Jahmar Milette
Jahmar Milette, the accomplished Site Director at DeLaveaga CKC, brings over two decades of dedicated experience in nurturing and guiding children's development. His journey began in Costa Rica, where he had the unique opportunity to lead children to the base of Volcan Arenal, an active volcano, setting the stage for a rich career in education.
Joining CKC as a teacher at Main St in December 2004, Jahmar's commitment and passion propelled him to the role of Assistant Director at DeLaveaga. A testament to his leadership, he assumed the position of Site Director at Bay View CKC until the challenges posed by the COVID Pandemic.
Despite the setbacks, Jahmar's resilience and expertise stood out, leading him to reclaim the Site Director position at DeLaveaga after the reopening. Outside his role at CKC, Jahmar, along with his wife, owns Bunny's Shoes in downtown Santa Cruz, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit.
With a profound love for watching and facilitating children's skill development, Jahmar finds joy in outdoor pursuits. Whether it's camping and hiking with his wife, Liz, and son, Jahkai, or indulging in activities like snowboarding, surfing, and disc golf during his leisure time, Jahmar embodies a holistic approach to life and learning.
